Springfield police arrested a 72-year-old man for allegedly dealing heroin Tuesday.
Officers observed Cleamous Mitchell sell the drug from a porch on Oak Grove Avenue, according to Springfield police Sgt. John Delaney.
Neighbors complained that Mitchell would take cell phone orders and sell to customers at the home, Delaney said.
Police arrested him and Frankie Sherman during an apparent drug deal between the two. Officers confiscated 14 bags of heroin and cash from Mitchell and two bags of Heroin from Sherman.
Mitchell, of 86 Oak Grove Ave., was charged with distribution of heroin and possession of a class A substance with intent to distribute, Delaney said.
Sherman, 54, of 1343 Riverdale St., of Westfield, was charged with possession of heroin and he was charged with two warrants, according to an arrest report.
Both individuals were scheduled to be arraigned in Springfield District Court on Wednesday.
