NOGALES, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Search crews are searching the Nogales wash Friday morning for a body seen floating in the water Thursday night, according to the Rio Rico Fire Department.

Authorities began the search at 9 a.m.

The Nogales Fire Department said it spotted the body of a woman near downtown Thursday night but was not able to recover it.

The Nogales International newspaper identified the woman as 43-year-old Karla Salazar, who was swept away during storms in Nogales, Sonora. She was in a car with her husband and son, who were able to escape and eventually were treated at a hospital.
