COLUMBUS, OH (WBNS/CBS) - A grandmother said she's being harassed on Facebook for posting what she called joking photos of her granddaughter with a pacifier duct-taped to her mouth.

Jackie Sheaks said the tape was on the little girl only long enough to take a prop photo. Though she made light of that and similar pictures, not everyone thought they were funny.

The images created such a firestorm that local law enforcement got involved out of concerns about potential child abuse.

"We're not horrible people that they are making us out to be," Sheaks said.

She posted another photo of the 2-month-old in a roasting pan with potatoes.

Sheaks said she's taken posed photos of other family members' children all her life, and none of her relatives objected.

But when the latest photos hit social media she said the harassment began almost immediately.

"It started as just a joke," Sheaks said. "We put a little tape on the pacifier because we were being silly. We wanted to share it with friends because everybody that knows us knows we play around like that."

What she saw as playful photos, law enforcement did not.

The sheriff and children services came to the Sheaks' home out of concern the child was in danger.

The child's mother said she had no problem with the photos, and no charges were initially filed.

Sheaks said she won't post prop photos of her granddaughter on Facebook again.

"Oh, it's definitely taught me a lesson," she said. "What we think is funny, other people don't. It will never happen again. It's definitely taught us a lesson."
