Former Holyoke mayor convicted of assault and battery

Former Holyoke Mayor Daniel J. Szostkiewicz has been convicted of one count of assault and battery.

Hampden County District Attorney James Orenstein confirmed to CBS 3 this afternoon that Szostkiewicz was found guilty Tuesday in Westfield District Court on charges related to a 2012 domestic incident.

The former mayor received a fine of $500, a sur-fine of $125, and was required to pay a victim witness fee of $50.
