GILFORD, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire State Police say a 27-year-old Massachusetts man has drowned in Lake Winnipesaukee.

It happened just before 5 p.m. Monday. State police say their marine patrol received a 911 call reporting that lifeguards at Ellacoya State Park were performing CPR on an unresponsive man.

A lifeguard recovered the man, Oscar Hernandez Gonzalez of Boston, in water that was about 7 feet deep. Guards continued performing CPR until marine patrol officers and Gilford fire and rescue officers arrived.

Gonzalez was taken to Lakes Region General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
