Saints and tight end Jimmy Graham reach multi-year deal

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WAFB) - The New Orleans Saints and tight end Jimmy Graham agreed to a terms on a multi-year contract extension Tuesday morning.

Graham took to Twitter to make the announcement about the deal.

"It's official I'm bleeding black and gold this morning! Thank you WhoDatNation for all the support," Graham tweeted at 7:52 a.m.

The Saints organization later also took to the popular social media platform to confirmed the deal had had been reached.

"The @Saints have agreed to terms on multi-year deal with @TheJimmyGraham!" the organization's official account tweeted at 8:29 a.m.

The team did not release details about the contract, but ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the team signed Graham to a 4-year, $40 million deal that includes $21 million guaranteed, per a source.

The deal makes Graham the highest paid tight end in the NFL.

Both parties had until 3 p.m. to reach a long-term deal.
