Johnson City Police Department officers arrested a woman Sunday after she reportedly lied about being assaulted by her boyfriend and gave them a fake name.

According to a JCPD news release, Deanna T. Roscoe, 20, 1740 Nathaniel Drive, Apt. 30, was arrested after police responded to her apartment in reference to an assault.

Roscoe told police her name was Deanna Stevens and said that her boyfriend, who had left the scene, had assaulted her.

Police said no physical evidence of the assault was seen and when they ran the name Deanna Stevens, the name did not exist.

According to the release, Roscoe kept insisting that information she was giving was accurate, until police said they were going to check with her property manager to confirm her identity.

She reportedly admitted to police that she lied and gave them the proper information.

Roscoe was arrested and charged with false reporting and was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where she was being held on $1,000 bond.

She was scheduled for arraignment in Sessions Court Monday at 1:30 p.m.
