RALEIGH, N.C. -

Raleigh police arrested and charged a 25-year-old man with robbing four Asian restaurants in Raleigh.

Police charged Timothy Hakeem Mays in connection with four robberies dating from June 7 to July 12. Mays is accused of robbing a China Wok on June 7, a King Chef on Capital Boulevard on June 12, a Wang’s Kitchen on June 28 and the Golden China on Falls of Neuse Road on July 12.

Mays is charged with three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of second-degree kidnapping.

May’s arrest comes days after Attorney General Roy Cooper warned about violent home invasions involving restaurant owners.

Several cases have been reported across eastern North Carolina, but police have not said if Mays is connected to those robberies.
