The owner of Ryder Funeral Home in South Hadley has given up his license to practice in the funeral and embalming business.
Officials with the state's division of professional licensure told CBS 3 that William Ryder voluntarily surrendered his license this week.
His funeral home closed down in May after state inspectors found several bodies that were unembalmed and not properly cared for.
By giving up his license, Ryder will never be able to reapply for one in the state again.
Ryder is still the subject of lawsuits brought on by family members of two of those whose bodies were taken there.
