Horn Lake, MS -

(WMC) - A Horn Lake, Mississippi family took to social media after being burglarized last week, and in a matter of days, an arrest has been made.

Teresa Howlett says on July 3, her purse was stolen from the inside of her car while she was outside doing yard work.

"Oh my God, I can not believe he did this," said Howlett.

According to Howlett, she initially thought she misplaced her purse. It wasn't until her husband, Harold Howlett, took a look at the home surveillance footage that she realized she was wrong.

"We had security cameras, we figured let's look and see if anything happened there," said her husband.

The footage revealed that a car pulled into their driveway, and a man walked into their garage.

The couple's daughter, Meriel Howlett, took to social media and put the surveillance footage on Facebook, garning more than 600 shares.

"I feel like it's gotten further because we has the pictures and it's easier to see who this is," said the victims daughter.

A day after the footage was posted, Desoto County Sheriff Deputies arrested 19-year-old Halston Harrison in connection with the purse snatching, as well as other burglaries.

Even after the arrest, the Howlett's are not letting down their guard.

"You expect for your house to be your castle but you really don't expect to have to dig a moat around it with guard towers," added Harold.
