EASTHAMPTON, MA (WSHM) -

One person is homeless following a fire at 72 Pleasant St.

The Easthampton Fire Department told CBS 3 that crews arrived shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Sunday and they saw smoke coming from one of the five apartments in the building.

The fire was extinguished in under 10 minutes, but the apartment is uninhabitable due to fire and smoke damage.

All other tenants in the building were allowed to return.

The resident is being helped by the Red Cross.

There were no injuries and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
