HOLYOKE, MA (WSHM) -

State troopers on patrol in The Paper City Monday night stopped a Dodge Caravan for motor vehicle violations, but further investigation turned up multiple bags containing a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine, according to a state police official.

At about 6:15 p.m. state police pulled over 35-year-old Robert A. Keitt, of Springfield. During their investigation, troopers also found a digital scale with cocaine and marijuana residue on it, police said.

Keitt was charged with possession of a class B substance (cocaine) with intent to distribute, which was a subsequent offence. He was also charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and failure to display an inspection sticker, state police said

Keitt was transported to the Northampton barracks for booking and was held on $5,000 bail pending his arraignment in Holyoke District Court Tuesday morning.
