The Samuel Adams Brewing Company held a small business speed-coaching seminar Monday night at Springfield Technical Community College.
Participants, who were mostly Western Mass business owners, got six 20-minute sessions with representatives from the beer company to address their specific needs and questions on running a productive business.
The brewery's founder, Jim Koch, said he admits he had no idea about the rules of business when he invented the famous Boston-based beer.
"When I started Sam Adams, I realized there was a lot I didn't know about all the basics of business and I made a lot of business," Koch said.
He hoped the session will guide local business owners in the right direction.
"The objective tonight is to help small businesses in Western Mass grow their businesses and succeed because ideally, there's a Sam Adams here in some businesses, that can grow and create jobs and economic development," he continued.
The gathering was part of Sam Adams Nationwide Brewing the American Dream program.
The company also gave out loans to help startup businesses get on their feet.
