This weekend, the Mass Mutual Center is home to the first vaping convention in New England.
It is hosted by the Vaping Convention Circuit, which has hosted similar types of events over the past year across the country.
Attendees, who must be at least 18 years old, get the chance to try and buy new gear and learn the latest about electronic cigarettes.
Organizers told CBS 3 that this is an industry that continues to grow.
"[There are an] estimated 15,000 vapor shops across the United States right now, with two to three more opening every week," said Dimitris Agrafiotis, executive director of the Tennessee Smoke Free Association. "The challenge is to show to the government that we are a viable industry, and it's actually a product that can help millions of people quit smoking."
Organizers said even their critics admit that vaping is better than smoking traditional cigarettes.
The vaping convention continues on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Admission is free, but you must be at least 18 years old to enter.
