SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

The Springfield Arson & Bomb Squad is investigating after firefighters responded to Berkshire Avenue early Thursday morning and found a minivan fully engulfed in flames.

The car was stolen and the fire was deliberately set, according to Executive Aide to the Fire Commissioner Dennis Leger.

It was about 2:10 a.m. when emergency crews arrived to 406 Berkshire Ave. The car involved in the arson was a 2002 Dodge Caravan and it is a total loss, Leger said.

Anyone with any information on the fire is asked to call the Springfield Arson & Bomb Squad at 413-787-6370.
