A week-long wellness tour is underway in Western Massachusetts, courtesy of Walgreens and the National Urban League.
The Well-Health Tour bus stopped at the Walgreens on State Street for six hours on Sunday.
For those who walked up, they were able to sign up for free health tests, including cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure.
Organizers said these tests are crucial.
"Well, it's extremely important, particularly for people of this area because some folks in this area are disadvantaged and the costs of these screenings are [normally] $200," said Andrew Cade, member of the Urban League of Springfield. "They get these screenings absolutely free of charge here today."
The wellness tour continues every day this week at various Walgreens in Chicopee, Springfield and Holyoke.
The tour is capped off next Saturday with a community event at the Cedars Banquet facility.
