State police: 2 children killed in Brimfield crash

BRIMFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

State police confirmed Monday morning that two children were killed in a head-on collision Friday night. 

The incident happened just after 5 p.m. on Route 20 when two Honda Civics collided near East Brimfield Holland Road.

Two medical helicopters and several ambulances were dispatched to the accident scene.

According to Brimfield police, three children, all under the age of 5, and two adults were taken to UMass Medical Center where they were listed in critical condition Friday evening.

There was no update on the other child and the two adults taken to the hospital as of Monday morning.

State police Lt. Daniel Richards said that Brimfield police did request a state police reconstruction team, which only responds to serious accidents.
