The Turners Falls Fire Department recovered the body of a man from the Connecticut River on Tuesday shortly after noon.
Mary Carey, communications director for the Northwestern district attorney, tells CBS 3 that the body was recovered from the Gill side of the Connecticut River, one mile south of the French King Bridge.
Residents fishing on the water spotted the body and alerted authorities.
According to the Montague Police Department Facebook page, the body has been confirmed as that of a man who jumped off the French King Bridge last week, though the chief medical examiner is investigating.
No foul play is suspected at this time.
