Residents had the opportunity to donate money in the fight against childhood cancer on Saturday, and all they had to do was enjoy a fresh cup of ice cold lemonade.
The Longmeadow Kids Care Club hosted Alex's Lemonade Stand for the second year in a row, as part of the foundation's national lemonade days initiative.
The organization ran two lemonade stands on Williams Street.
Saturday's event was not only part of the effort to bring an end to childhood cancer, it was also a chance to raise awareness for the children involved.
"It's great to have them to be able to actually speak to other people and tell them about something they may not be comfortable with, get them out of their comfort zone," said Candice Healy, a parent involved with the kids care club. "Then, also to do something as simple as make lemonade to brighten someone's day, and we are just trying to get kids to understand the importance of helping other kids."
For anyone interested in taking part in the fundraiser, the stands will be open at the same locations on Sunday.
