The Hinds County Sheriff's Department says no charges will be filed against three Central Mississippi Tea Party members who were found locked inside the Hinds County Courthouse early Wednesday morning.
Department spokesman Othor Cain said in a release that there is no reason to believe they were engaged in criminal activity or that they broke any laws.
The three, Rob Chambers, Scott Brewster and Janice Lang, were able to enter the courthouse through a side door marked for employees only and had no help from any uniformed personnel or employee of the Hinds County Sheriff's Office to enter. The door was either propped open or malfunctioning at the time.
The door closed and locked behind them and after finding that no one was still in the building, they had to call for help to get out.
Cain says there was no breach of security as it relates to the integrity of the voting process, and that the investigation is closed.
