State police rescued a golden retriever that was wedged under its owner's car after it was accidentally run over Sunday afternoon.
A woman was backing out of her driveway when she hit the retriever, which caused the animal to be pinned under the vehicle, according to the Massachusetts State Police Facebook page.
Troopers Paul Bertozzi and Daniel Nunes responded to the scene and used car jacks to lift the vehicle and free the dog. Animal control also responded.
As soon as the pup was free, he immediately ran over to Trooper Bertozzi and started licking his face, according to Sgt. Daniel Thom.
The animal suffered minor burns, but was not severely injured.
