State police arrested an alleged drug dealer bearing a loaded handgun just before 6 p.m. Sunday.
A trooper pulled over an Infinity on Interstate 91 northbound near Exit 2 after finding that the license plate on the vehicle did not match the make of the car, according to state police officials.
Following an investigation, the trooper found a loaded .40 caliber Glock 27 handgun and a sum of cash, which troopers believed was from the sale of narcotics. A bag of marijuana that troopers said was packaged for distribution was also found inside the car, police said.
Anibal J. Collazo, 20, of West Springfield, was charged with possession of a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without a license, possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute (marijuana), possession of a loaded firearm and illegally attaching license plates to a vehicle, according to an arrest report.
Collazo was held on $3,000 bail and will be arraigned in Springfield District Court Monday morning.
