Three-car crash in Springfield sends five to hospital

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

First responders were called into action Saturday afternoon.

Right around 3 p.m., a three-car crash took place on St. James Avenue, near Albany Street.

It involved two Infiniti cars and one Ford Focus.

Dennis Leger, aide to Fire Commissioner Joseph Conant, told CBS 3 that one person had to be extricated from one of the Infiniti vehicles.

In all, five people were taken to the hospital with various injuries.

The Springfield Police Department told CBS 3 that none of the injuries are considered life threatening.
