BOSTON, MA (WSHM) -

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission has laid out a tentative timeline for the potential awarding of the Western Massachusetts casino license.

The MGC will hold meetings from June 10 through June 13 for the evaluation and determination process for Region B and the MGM project.

The process would begin with meetings in Springfield on Tuesday, June 10 and Wednesday, June 11.

On June 10, commissioners will discuss evaluation reports and each member will present the segment of the proposal that he or she is responsible for. That process could extend into the following day.

Depending on where the commission is at after that discussion, a decision could be made in principle to allow licensees to work with staff members. That will likely occur at the MGC's regular meeting in Boston.

The final decision on the Region B casino license will be made on Friday, June 13 back in Springfield.

Commissioners are stressing, however, that they must be flexible with this timeline as they may need more time for the discussion of the proposal.
