Sealcoating projects to affect Tucson drivers

Posted: Updated:
TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A new set of sealcoating projects will impact Tucson drivers for the next two weeks.

City of Tucson construction workers will improve East 36th Street between South Kino Parkway and South Palo Verde Road on the south side on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

They'll then move to South Park Avenue on Wednesday. Sealcoating will take place between East Irvington and East Valencia roads through June 2 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The intersection at Park and Irvington will also be included, as well as East Bilby Road from South Nogales Highway to South Campbell Avenue.

City of Tucson officials also plan to coat East Glenn Street between North Swan and North Craycroft roads in midtown from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 3.

Lane closures will be in place, so this will affect your daily drive. Leave your house slightly earlier to combat this.

Please drive carefully in all construction zones, watching for people and equipment.

This construction is part of a voter approved, $100 million, five year street bond program. Restorations of roads should continue through the year 2018, according to The City of Tucson.
