Sullivan Co. man faces animal cruelty after video pops up on social media

SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN (WJHL) -

A man is facing animal cruelty charges after someone posted disturbing video of a dog being dragged on social media. The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office learned of the video Monday.

After viewing the video and talking to witnesses,  the sheriff's office issued a a criminal summons for Buster Allan Jackson - charging him with animal cruelty. 

Animal control has taken custody of the dog, but there were no visible injuries on the dog.

A concerned citizen posted the video on social media and it shows a dog dragged across the yard by a man. 

The Sullivan County Sheriff's office tells News Channel 11 it received calls from people from all over the country who saw the video post on Facebook. 

The criminal summons requires Jackson to appear in court Tuesday. After appearing in court, Jackson will have 10 days to report to jail.
