(RNN) – He's the most talked about seventh-round pick in the history of the modern-day NFL draft, but former Missouri Tiger and current St. Louis Ram Michael Sam just wants to play football.

Now, his journey to make the Rams' 53-man squad will be chronicled by media mogul Oprah Winfrey and her OWN cable channel in a yet untitled docu-series, announced Wednesday.

The project, which has been in the works for the last two months, will take an "up-close look at the remarkable man at the center of this groundbreaking moment in professional sports," a press release from OWN said.

But as the cameras continue to focus on Michael Sam, the man who kissed his boyfriend as he received the news he was drafted on Sunday and the ugly response that followed, is the 249th pick of the 2014 draft ready to be followed by the cameras of ESPN, CNN and now OWN?

He said at the NFL combine that he wanted to be judged as Michael Sam the football player, not Michael Sam the gay football player, but is it fair for him to capitalize on his story of triumph and still accomplish his goal of overcoming doubters, who didn't think he'd get drafted in the first place?

All signs point to yes.

A little something from YouTube: Bill Murray channels the late Harry Caray in minor league promotion of 'Ghostbusters' night

Everyone loves Bill Murray. Most people love baseball – it used to be America's pastime (thanks, American football!) but it still draws passionate fans from the minors to the Big Show.

Thanks to the Toledo Mud Hens, the Triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, we have a beautiful promotion for its Ghostbusters Night. In it, we have the comedy legend Murray, minor league baseball at its finest and a silly impersonation of the late Harry Caray.

It's almost as good as Will Ferrell's Harry Caray impersonation…almost.

TV: Say goodbye to Barbara Walters, 'Robot Chicken'-style

Famed journalist and news anchor Barbara Walters is officially retiring from television Friday.

Her last appearance on her daytime roundtable talk show The View will reunite all 11 of the show's former co-hosts. While that should prove entertaining and full of professional shade-throwing, Walters' creation is one of the many lasting impressions her career has left on television.

But Adult Swim's Robot Chicken spun Walters' retirement another way – as her bowing out in a fiery blaze of glory and taking the entire crew with her.

The voiceover is a little creepy, but it's how many want to see The View go out. However, kudos to Walters who made women in broadcast journalism a professional reality, and took every joke at her expense in stride.

Music: Michael Jackson track featuring Justin Timberlake is something you could step to

Xscape, the album of previously unreleased, re-mastered and modernized tracks by the late Michael Jackson, was released in the U.S. on Tuesday.

One of its more radio-ready tracks, Love Never Felt So Good, features Justin Timberlake and is smooth R&B "contemporized" by Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid. And despite Reid's past business dealings, he swears to Time that the release isn't based on "corporate greed."

The album is a mixture of songs collected at the height of Jackson's fame from 1983 to 1999, and is getting favorable reviews from the likes of Billboard, who said, "Yes, it's good," and "it's better than you think."

Movies: Raunchy frat boy comedy 'Neighbors' knocks 'Spider-Man' off his web

Neighbors, staring Seth Rogen and Zac Efron, tore it up this weekend frat-daddy style and won the No. 1 spot at the box office. It knocked The Amazing Spider-Man 2 to the No. 2 spot with the cast of well-performing movies that have remained in the Top 5 for the last few weeks.

Here are last weekend's Top 5, according to Box Office Mojo (listed next to previous week's ranking and weekend gross):

  2. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (1) $35,501,212
  3. The Other Woman (2) $9,605,781
  4. Heaven is for Real (3) $7,482,618

The film stars Jon Hamm, Aasif Mandvi (The Daily Show), Alan Arkin, Bill Paxton and Lake Bell.

Also in theaters: The Immigrant, Chinese Puzzle, Half of a Yellow Sun, Ai Weiwei: The Fake Case
