A motorcyclist was seriously injured on Sunday afternoon, but police said the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
CBS 3 media partner Mass Live and The Republican reported that the motorcycle driver was thrown at least 100 feet after colliding with a car on Homestead Avenue at about 4 p.m.
He was alert when treated at the scene, and he was taken to Baystate Medical Center.
Police said the motorcyclist was speeding, which was a factor in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
The driver of the car was not injured.
