Firefighter injured after roof collapses in Fayetteville fire

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -
A firefighter was injured Sunday night after the roof collapsed during a vacant house fire in Fayetteville.
Fire crews responded to the fire around 11:30 p.m. at a home at the intersection of Raeford Road and Rom Road.
During a search and rescue of the home, a firefighter was injured when the interior ceiling collapsed. The firefighter was Captain Darrel Wilson. He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries where he was treated and released.
Fire crews were able to save only 25 percent of the home. No one was home at the time of the fire.
Fire investigators are still trying to determine what caused the fire.
