The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Hampden County from 6 p.m. Wednesday through Thursday evening.
A slow-moving system is expected to bring up to 2 inches of rain to parts of Western Massachusetts and southern New England. Isolated higher amounts of rain are also possible.
Flooding is possible in urban and poor drainage areas. Motorists are urged to use caution with ponding water on roadways as well.
Forecasts for the Connecticut River throughout Western Massachusetts are expected to stay well below flood stage.
