SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

Last month a man stole two iPads from the Radio Shack on Boston Road while a store clerk was entering information into a store computer.

According to Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney, a black male in his mid to late 20s, wearing a tan sweater and black pants, walked into the Radio Shack at 1655 Boston Rd. looking to purchase two iPads on March 29.

When the clerk put the two iPads on the counter and began to process the transaction, the thief snatched them and fled the store toward the north side of the Eastfield Mall, Delaney said.

The theft was caught on store video surveillance and police are now looking for the public's help in identifying the thief.

Anyone with any information on the identity of the suspect is asked to please call Detective Gifford Jenkins in the Springfield Police Department's Detective Bureau at 413-787-6355. Or the public can simply "Text-a-Tip" anonymously.
