Springfield's Symphony Hall was filled with the patriotic sounds of the United States Air Force Heritage of America Concert Band Wednesday night.
The band is made up of 45 professional musicians out of Virginia.
The band is under the leadership of Captain D. Hoerber who serves as Commander and Conductor as well as for the Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia and the United States Air Force Heartland of America Band, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska.
Some of the musicians were also a part of the U. S. Air Force Band of Liberty, which had played at Springfield's Symphony Hall many times.
The evening featured Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno, Major General Scott Rice of the Massachusetts National Guard and General Steven Vautrain, Commander of Westover Air Reserve Base.
The free concert was put on by the Spirit of Springfield with support by Accountable Care Associates and Health New England and the Springfield Department of Elder Affairs.
CBS 3 Springfield was a proud media partner of the event along with The Republican, and WMAS-FM.
During their April tour, the U. S. Air Force Heritage of America Band will be performing in Newark, DE, Milford and Norwalk, CT as well as Marlborough, Lexington, Southbridge and Fitchburg, MA.
