RALEIGH, N.C. - A man jumped out of a second-story apartment Thursday night to escape a home invasion in Raleigh, according to police.

Police said the robbery happened at 3129 Apt. G on Aileen Drive in Raleigh. The man told police that two people entered the home to rob him and he jumped from the porch to escape.

Police said shots were fired in the robbery and marijuana was seized from the apartment.

Residents at the complex tell WNCN that kind of incident isn't normal for the usually quiet complex and they will take extra precautions to stay safe.

"I'll make sure our doors are locked every night before my fiance and I go to bed," said Emily Wisner.  She's lived in the complex for two years.

"It’s just pretty crazy how this is a pretty quiet community it’s just shocking what could happen."

The robbery is under investigation and no one has been charged.
