A slew of alleged theft occurred in the city Sunday night and into Monday.
A 1996 Honda Accord was stolen from the parking lot located outside the Basketball Hall of Fame. The victim told police that the doors were locked and she did not leave the keys in her car, according to Springfield police.
The owner of Tech Roofing Service reported that his alarm went off overnight, but he did not respond because he thought it was triggered by high winds. When the owner opened his 267 Page Blvd. business the next morning, he found that a large amount of copper and scrap metal had been stolen, police said.
Copper piping was also stolen from a house on Pasco Road after someone allegedly broke into the home's basement window, police said.
On Belmont Avenue a back door was kicked in and several electronic items were stolen, including a Mac Book Pro Apple laptop, Nikon camera, a Playstation 3, police said. Various other items were taken as well.
More electronics were stolen on Peekskill Avenue after the victim reportedly left the front door to the house open. An Xbox 360 and numerous other electronic items were stolen during the alleged burglary, according to police.
