RALEIGH, N.C. -
A new book explores the photography and writing of the late Chris Hondros, a Getty Images photographer who graduated from N.C. State.
Hondros died April 20, 2011, in Libya while on assignment in the besieged city of Misrata. He was 31 at the time.
Hondros covered most of the world’s major conflicts as a photojournalists and was known for his ability to convey the humanity of those trapped in the war zones.
The book, “Testament,” includes collections of his work from war zones across the globe.
"One of the ongoing themes in my work, I hope, and one of the things I believe in, is a sense of human nature, a sense of shared humanity above the cultural layers we place on ourselves [which don't] mean that much compared to the human experience," Hondros said.
