Massachusetts state police in Taunton took 25 grams of heroin off the streets Thursday night.
While patrolling Oak Street around 7 p.m., a trooper stopped a Hyundai for speeding, according to a news release sent to CBS 3 from the state police media relations office.
As a result of an investigation and search of the motor vehicle troopers seized $2,500, 25 grams of heroin, and a bag of marijuana.
The driver, 38-year-old Kevin Miles, of Lakeville, was charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws, knowingly being present where heroin is kept, and speeding.
The passenger, and alleged owner of the drugs, was identified as 29-year-old Kevin Cambria, of Taunton. He was charged with trafficking heroin, and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
