On Wednesday, April 2, a woman stood in court to receive her punishment for the harsh discipline of her 9-year-old daughter.

Judge Pamela Barker sentenced Dominique Jones to one year in prison for tying her daughter to a chair and beating her as well as a son with a belt.

On April 22, 2013, Jones tied her 9-year old daughter to a chair using belts and began whipping the child with a belt over her entire body including her face.

Jones had called the father of her children to come over and help discipline the child.

The father arrived at the home at the same time as Jones' boyfriend, co-defendant Joe McCurdy III of Cleveland.

When the father saw what was happening he called 911.

The two suspects continued whipping the child as well as the victim's 7-year old brother who was trying to protect his sister.

On February 6, 2014, Jones entered a plea of guilty to two counts of attempted endangering children and one count of endangering children.
