Phil Fills In: Toilet-fixer extraordinaire

Posted: Updated:
CARY, N.C. -

In this edition of “Phil Fills In,” Phil answers an important question: What would it be like to be a plumber?

Well he certainly found out. Phil’s hand ended up in a stranger’s toilet.

Back to the beginning, though. The day began at Michael and Sons in Raleigh, that’s where Phil met plumber John Mayo.

“We’re going to do a plumbing inspection. If I find any problems, I’ll give him the option to repair, if everything looks good, I shake hands tell him, ‘have a good afternoon,’” Mayo said.

Before heading out on the job, the truck needed to be prepped and that meant washing it from front to back.

Then it was time to head off to Cary where Phil and John checked beneath the home and in the kitchen. Things looked good according to John.

From there it was off to the bathroom where Phil helped fix a loose toilet seat cover. Unfortunately, that was just the easy part.

This is where Phil’s hand ends up in toilet water. It turned out the gasket was breaking apart so it was Phil to the rescue.

Soon the nightmare was over. Plumbing is a dirty but necessary job.

The good news? No plumbers crack was involved.
