For the fifth year in a row, a group celebrated education in Springfield.
United in Hope held its ceremony Saturday afternoon at the High School of Commerce.
The purpose of the event was to not only celebrate education and educators, but to raise awareness for the power of education and community partnerships, which organizers said help in finding successes and creating hope in life.
"We come together every year as a community to unite behind the public schools in the city of Springfield," said Superintendent Daniel Warwick. "Today, we honored some people who made great contributions to both."
New to this year's celebration was the presentation of the Inspirers of Hope awards.
They were given to an inspirational educator, parent, community partner and student.
