Man robs Springfield bank, gets away with cash

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

The TD Bank on Boston Road was robbed Wednesday evening and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police arrived to the bank at 1800 Boston Rd. just after 5 p.m. and spoke with bank employees who described the suspect as a "white male between 30 and 40 years old standing 5'6" tall. The man was wearing a tan coat, prescription glasses, a skullcap, jeans and white sneakers," according to Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney.

No weapon was shown at the time of the robbery. The suspect fled heading north on Stocker Street with an undisclosed amount of money. Nobody was injured during the robbery, Delaney said.

The Springfield Police Department Detective Bureau responded immediately and secured the crime scene.
