DURHAM, N.C. - Tripps in Durham was the place to be Friday to either celebrate or drown your NCAA sorrows.

"It killed my whole day. It really did,” said Duke fan Geoffrey Farmer.

Geoffrey silently shook his head at the bar after Duke’s unbelievable 78-71 loss to Mercer in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.

On the other end of the blue spectrum and very close to Geoffrey sat his twin brother Greg, who happens to be a North Carolina fan.

“Today was so beautiful! I'm buying my whole family drinks," Greg Farmer said.

Geoffrey said he was holding out hope that his Blue Devils would pull out the close game against Mercer.

“But me knowing Duke, they always mess up in the end if they're close," Geoffrey Farmer said. “I feel like my first love just broke up with me."

Greg Farmer didn’t mind rubbing it in, saying he can’t wait until Duke loses again next year.

“I want this every year, every season, every decade,” Greg Farmer said.

Their mother, Sheri Shuler –Farmer, kept the peace between the brothers.

"It is hilarious. They have almost come to blows when they were younger," she said.

But she isn’t exactly in no man's land. She is a North Carolina Central fan.

“Eagle Territory,” she said.

NCCU plays Iowa State at 9:50 p.m.

North Carolina plays Providence at 7:20 p.m.
