Springfield man indicted on child porn charges, faces 20 years

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

A Springfield man could face 20 years in jail after he was arrested on child pornography charges.

Daniel P. Lorenz, 44, was indicted Thursday on two counts of distributing child pornography, three counts of receiving child pornography and possessing child pornography files, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz.

Lorenz appeared in U.S. District Court in Springfield Thursday morning.

If convicted, Lorenz faces a statutory mandatory minimum of five years and a maximum of 20 years in prison, Ortiz said.

He faces a maximum fine of $250,000 on distribution and receipt of child pornography charge.
