WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) -

A woman in Waterbury was arrested Wednesday for throwing hot coffee in an officer's face, police said.

Trena Grant, 30, ran up to Officer Michael Terzigni's car and asked him if he wanted a cup of coffee. That's when police said she threw it.

Terzigni was parked in the lot of a Home Depot at the time and off duty.

Police said Grant did it hours after being charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possibly PCP.

They said Terzigni arrested Grant after a struggle.

She was then charged with assault on a police officer.

Grant was being held on a $50,000 bond.
