The saga continued at the Holyoke Geriatric Authority Wednesday night as the facility moved along with its closing process.
Board members met with employees, patients and their families to discuss the procedures of the transition process.
Even though the closure is underway, some board members are still holding out hope the authority can be saved.
They say there is a possible bidder who may be looking into buying the center but that it is not set in stone just yet, so the closure will continue.
Family members of the residents say the uncertainty among the board is causing frustration.
"It's all left on me. I don't know where to turn. I need the help, I don't have the help. I mean, you know, it just eats you up," said Michael Parker, the son of a patient at the facility.
The board will be meeting again on Friday to discuss the possibility of a buyer.
