LEOMINSTER, Mass. (AP) - Police in Leominster are investigating after a local Girl Scout leader reported that someone stole three cases of cookies and $4,000 in cookie sales proceeds from her home.
Officers responded to the home on Monday when a resident returned to find the front door wide open.
In addition to the cookies - worth $144 - and the missing cash, the thief or thieves took a Nintendo Wii, a laptop and a DVD player.
Troop leader Joan Levine tells The Sentinel & Enterprise (http://bit.ly/1hgmWUv ) she thinks someone followed her home over the weekend after she and her scouts finished selling cookies.
She says the money is used to fund activities and field trips. She said her scouts wanted to use the money to fund horseback riding and a day trip to Boston.
