Las Vegas' old-fashioned 'farm' needs modern parking lot

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

It probably has the freshest honey, eggs and vegetables you'll find in the Las Vegas Valley, and it needs help.

The Farm is located at the corner of Grand Teton Drive and Tenaya Way. Besides fresh produce, the functioning farm gives people the opportunity to learn farming skills.

The Farm's owners say Clark County has informed them they must install a parking lot that can accommodate 100 vehicles. They have until the end of March to do so, or the attraction will be shut down.

"What's kind of nice and unique about this is everyone comes through the gates and says, ‘I didn't realize this was in Las Vegas.' Or it's like, ‘I just left Las Vegas. It's like visiting my grandfather's farm in Kentucky or Tennessee,'" owner Glenn Linsenbardt said.

To construct the parking lot, The Farm needs enough gravel to cover half an acre, paint and carpenters to volunteer their time.
