HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -

A large plume of smoke could be seen rising from the area near Sam Boyd Stadium in the southeast Las Vegas Valley on Tuesday afternoon.

Nicole Johnson, spokeswoman for the Henderson Fire Department, said the fire started about 12:30 p.m. at the end of Russell Road near the stadium. She said the fire was under control about two hours later.

A couple of pictures sent to FOX5 showed a large plume of smoke rising over Henderson. Several people also called the newsroom to report the smoke.

While Johnson did not speak as to the cause of the blaze, she said no structures were damaged by the fire and no injuries were reported.
