Westhampton voters approve school renovation

WESTHAMPTON, MA (WSHM) -

Westhampton Elementary School can plan on a getting a facelift.

Voters in town approved a $1.1 million renovation project in a special election on Saturday.

The Daily Hampshire Gazette reported the vote passed 77 to 11.

The taxpayer approval was the final step for the town to get a Massachusetts School Building Authority grant, which will cover more than half the cost.

The project will give the 22-year-old building a new roof and new doors.
