A man with Western Mass connections is behind bars after a standoff with police in Enfield, CT.

The intense standoff paralyzed an entire neighborhood.

Police told residents to stay inside while they zeroed-in on a home located on Audrey Lane.

The suspect was inside, Timothy Doyle, 34, of Enfield.

Enfield Police Chief Carl Sferrazza said Doyle was wanted on two warrants,  including one in Springfield after a domestic issue on Olmsted Drive.

"These are warrants that come from Springfield involving firearms. He's also wanted in Holyoke  for forgery and larceny charges," explained Sferrazza.

Springfield and Enfield police went to Doyle's home to serve the warrant, but he refused to come out of the house.

That's when other police departments and members of the SWAT were called in.

Because Doyle's past crimes were weapons-related, police wanted to take every precaution necessary.

Police cars lined surrounding streets during the nearly two-hour standoff, unit Doyle finally surrendered.

"He's placed under arrest as a fugitive from justice," said Sferrazza.

Doyle has previously served jail time for assault, larceny, failure to appear and illegal possession of a firearm.

No one was injured during the standoff.
