Saturday marked the beginning of a key stretch for Massachusetts Democratic hopefuls, as statewide caucuses are now underway.
The Longmeadow Democratic Town Committee was one of the groups in the Bay State that held their caucus on opening day.
The group selected the delegates to represent the town at the state's Democratic convention later this year.
Candy Glazer, chair of the committee, told CBS 3 that this is going to be an exciting year for Massachusetts.
"There's a lot of buzz, a lot of excitement," said Glazer. "People have been asking me, 'When is the caucus?' To get people out here on a Saturday afternoon in February, I think people are very interested, this year especially, with everything wide open. Gov. Patrick not running again, I sense a real sense of excitement here."
This year's state Democratic convention will be held at the DCU Center in Worcester this June.
